This tour features a beach with the most inviting azure waters and a glimpse over the mythical stones of Hercules’ victory over the Giants.

We first start our tour with a visit at a traditional chapel, where we have the opportunity to explore Mykonos’ traditions and locals’ tales.
After riding a demanding uphill, we disappear in the traditional donkey paths, off roading and enjoying the untouched rural landscapes, before coasting down to our destination beach.

Our stop for relaxation, sunbathing, swimming & underwater photo shooting, Lia, is a truly beautiful, organized, yet quiet, beach. After enjoying our beach activities, we will be refreshed with homemade organic lemonade and tempted by a traditional dessert, offering us the appropriate energy boost for the forthcoming hilly challenge!

Of course, what goes down must come up; so the way back from Lia beach will give you bragging rights for your accomplishment in conquering this tour’s steep inclines.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
A taste of the real Greece...

  • We start our cycling trips at our organic vineyard and farm “Mykonos Vioma” (check www.mykonosvioma.com).
  • Dimitra's dad has run the farm for 31 years, he took it on as a ruin and has created the only biodynamic vineyard on Mykonos
  • We are local guides, sharing our love for Mykonos and enthusiasm for cycling with our guests
  • We'll fit you out with mountain bikes & helmets and provide or fill your water bottles before heading off (preparations and tutorial usually takes ~30minutes)
  • We first cycle to a traditional small chapel for a ~30 minutes interpretative talk on our local traditions.
  • After being challenged by a steep hill, we then ride through paved roads and a single track to the beach of Lia, where we have enough time for swimming & underwater photo shooting (weather permitting), before refreshing with homemade lemonade & a snack.
  • A demanding uphill and then more moderate slopes will take us back to the flatlands of Maou, before we end our ride back at the vineyard

NOTE:
The narrow roadway to Lia beach might be a bit busy during the peak summer season, so this tour isn’t appropriate for riders who do not feel confident on their bikes as cars pass by.
If you worry about the inclines, you may also consider the option of upgrading to an e-bike, i.e. a motor-assisted bicycle smoothening your pedalling and helping you conquer all terrain.
